Amy Winehouse Tops Sales Charts

Amy Winehouse dominated the new U.K. sales charts in the wake of her death July 23. Her sophomore album “Back To Black” (Universal Island) returned to the summit, as she placed two other titles in the top ten and five tracks in the singles top 40. Meanwhile, pop band JLS scored their fifth U.K. No. 1 single with “She Makes Me Wanna” (Epic/Sony Music Entertainment), featuring American artist Dev.
“Back To Black” raced 59-1 on the new Official Charts Company survey, having first topped the chart for two weeks in January 2007 and another that March. Her first album, 2003′s “Frank,” reappeared in the new data at a new peak of No. 5, having previously reached No. 13 in February 2004. Island’s doublepack of the two original albums packaged together also hit the top ten, at No. 10.
